Zahra is an otolaryngology resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital and earned her B.S. in Biology and M.D./Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Stanford University. While at Stanford, Zahra was the president of the Stanford Wushu Club and the co-president of Stanford Math Magic. Zahra has been recognized for academic achievement as a National Merit Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a President Scholars Semifinalist, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow, and an Association for Research in Otolaryngology Medical Student Travel Award Winner. She is a trained Baby Cuddler at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University.
