Thomas graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in Physics. He earned both his M.A. in Science Education and his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University. Tom is an accomplished scientist: he presented research at the 1998 Nuclear Physics Conference in Santa Fe, and he co-designed and co-directed an International Academic Partnership residential science workshop in Hyderabad, India. Thomas is also a dedicated and innovative teacher; before tutoring with Advantage Testing, he taught physics, precalculus, and calculus at Phillips Academy Andover, and he designed and taught Mechanical Engineering with LEGOS at the Phillips Academy Summer Session. Outside of tutoring, Thomas is an active birder, and he plays amateur accordion with a folk band on the Upper East Side.
