Casey earned her A.B. in Philosophy from Princeton University and her Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She worked in the field of K–12 special education in Vermont for six years, an experience that continues to impact her approach to teaching students and working with families across the U.S. and internationally.
Casey takes special joy from teaching foundational skills to beginners. Their struggles are real. Regardless of students’ levels of mastery, they all need strategies for when they meet obstacles. Students actively collaborate with Casey to determine the approaches and techniques that work best for them. This empowering plan (error analysis and remediation, content review, and strategy planning) builds confidence. As students practice executing the plan, they make better and better judgment calls that lead to success. “The world is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming.” (Helen Keller)
Casey is the Associate Director of Advantage Testing of Long Island.
