When are SAT Subject Tests Taken?

Students can take most Subject Tests on any of the six official SAT Subject Test dates: October, November, December, May, June, and August. A few subjects offer more limited options. For example, Latin is offered in December and in June only. Select one of our Subject Test Programs to see when each test is offered.

Because Subject Test content often overlaps with school coursework, we recommend that most students plan to take the test near the end of the overlapping school courses.

Students may cancel a Subject Test score by the first Wednesday after taking the test. Unless a student experienced equipment failure on a Math Subject Test or Language with Listening Subject Test, students must cancel all Subject Tests taken per test date.
