Steven earned a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, a B.A. in History at Yale University, and a Ph.D. in Genetics at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where he studied breast cancer epigenetics. He is currently completing his M.D./Ph.D. at Stony Brook University. While an undergrad at Yale, Steven studied gene regulation in immune cells at the medical school and spent a year after graduation as a postgraduate research associate in immunology at Yale Medical School. Born and raised in New York, Steven attended Scarsdale High School, ran track and cross country and received a National Merit Scholarship.
Steven never ceases to be amazed by the complexity and beauty of biology and enjoys learning, teaching, and exploring this together with his students from middle school to graduate school. Throughout his education, Steven has served on admissions committees, completing interviews and reviewing personal statements and he brings this experience to essay writing and admissions interview counseling for students.
