Steven studied Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and History at Yale University, earning a B.S. While an undergrad at Yale, Steven studied gene regulation in immune cells at the medical school, was principal tuba of the Yale Symphony Orchestra, and published in the science and opinion sections of the Yale Daily News. Steven is from New York and was the President of the Scarsdale High School Academic and Music Honor Societies, ran varsity track and cross country, received the science department award for all-around excellence, and won a National Merit Scholarship. Steven was a Postgraduate Research Associate in immunology at Yale and is now completing an M.D./Ph.D. at Stony Brook University. His research for the Genetics graduate program is at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and focuses on breast cancer.
