A magna cum laude graduate of Carleton College, Michelle earned her B.A. in Mathematics with significant coursework in music. While at Carleton, she was a peer tutor in the Carleton Writing Center and a teacher at the Carleton Summer Writing Program for high school students. Michelle has been recognized for academic excellence: she was a National Merit Scholar and an AP Scholar, and she won the Steven P. Galovich Prize in Mathematics. Additionally, she studied in Budapest through the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics Program, and as an undergraduate student, she co-authored a paper that was published in The Electronic Journal of Combinatorics. Michelle also has eight years of training in voice with a strong interest in jazz. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
