Marti graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Communication Science and Disorders. She worked in pediatric home health care before obtaining her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Baptist University. While in graduate school, she acquired her teaching certification in Early Childhood–Sixth Grade, with additional training in gifted and talented instruction. Marti has eight years of teaching experience in independent/private schools in Houston. She has also completed multiple training courses through the Neuhaus Program and was a mentor at Neuhaus in their OCPODS Program and their Language Enrichment Program. Marti enjoys the challenge of working with all different age groups and enjoys watching children grow and become more successful both in and out of the classroom. Marti works as a professor at the University of St. Thomas in the Pragmatic Studies department. She is also continuing her higher education to achieve her Ph.D. in Strategic Leadership. In her free time, she likes to spend time with friends, family, and her dogs.
