Justin earned his B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing with honors from Butler University, where he was a Writing Fellow and won awards for his fiction and poetry. While an undergraduate, he studied poetry, creative writing, and history abroad at the University of Cambridge. Justin then served as a member of Teach for America, during which time he graduated from Marian University with an M.A. in Teaching. An educator for the past decade, Justin has taught in middle and high school classrooms, college writing courses, and creative writing workshops. He loves helping his students to individual aha moments and to long-term growth as readers, writers, mathematicians, and thinkers. Outside of tutoring, Justin participates in storytelling competitions. His stories have won The Moth's Grand Slam storytelling competition in Houston and have been featured on public radio. He also enjoys reading, writing, rowing, college basketball, and football, and exploring other cultures through travel and food.
