A proud New Yorker, Julia attended Hunter College High School and then Yale University, graduating with a B.A. in African-American Studies. She is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in School Counseling at Columbia University, Teachers College. Julia has taught English and history at both the middle and high school levels. Most recently, she taught AP Literature and Composition to a cohort of indomitable 11th graders. Alongside her experience as a classroom teacher, Julia is a big-hearted tutor who strives to help her students deepen their capacity for problem solving and storytelling. Outside of teaching, she enjoys poetry and pickles, often in the same sitting.
