Alison graduated magna cum laude from The University of Texas at Arlington with a B.A. in Communications Advertising and a minor in English. She went on to earn her M.A. in Film, with merit, from the University of London.

Alison completed two years as an English, college-readiness, and film teacher (and curriculum developer) in Miami-Dade County with Teach For America and has worked as an aptitude tester at the Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation, helping teenagers and adults discover their natural talents. She is a certified Academic Life Coach and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association, and has been coaching college admission essays since her undergraduate years.

In her spare time, Alison enjoys musical theater, hosting pub trivia, reading voraciously, and solo travel—accompanied in spirit, if not in person, by the official Office Dog, London.

Alison is the Program Coordinator of Advantage Testing of Austin.
