Zarif received his B.A. in English and American Literature from New York University, where he was a University Honors Scholar. While earning his degree, he also became a FEMA-certified emergency medical technician, volunteering for ambulance crews in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Zarif went on to complete an M.F.A. in Literary Arts at Brown University, where he focused on poetry and photography. As a writer and practicing artist, he has lived in Mexico City, Berlin, and Florence. Prior to joining Advantage Testing, Zarif taught undergraduate courses at Brown University. Outside of work, Zarif recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro; he hopes to climb more mountains soon.
