Dan Freeman in New York, NY

Dan graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, earning a B.A. in History and receiving the Harvard College Scholarship for Academic Distinction. He was also awarded the David McCord Prize and the Quincy House Scroll.

Dan has been tutoring in both American and World history at Advantage since 2005. In addition to tutoring with Advantage Testing, Dan is a full professor in the Electronic Production and Design Department at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is also on the faculty of The Juilliard School in the Center for Innovative Technology and New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. For all these universities, he designs curriculum and specializes in digital music production and live performance. He is also heavily involved in the development of new interfaces for electronic music performance.

Dan has performed and given workshops on electronic music production, technology and performance at festivals, universities and schools worldwide including at: New York Tech Week 2024, SXSW, Harvard University, TEDxPuraVida (Costa Rica), Berghain (Berlin) Kings Place (London), Argenlive (Buenos Aires), The Universidad de Santiago (Chile), Teatro Ruben Dario (Nicaragua), Centro Cultural de España (Mexico City) and Sonar (Barcelona). As a bass player, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, on Broadway, throughout North and South America and Europe, and in many venues in New York City. He also actively records and produces records at his studio near Union Square in Manhattan.

Dan is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has lived abroad in both Costa Rica and Italy.
