Dan Freeman in New York, NY

Dan has been tutoring American and World History at Advantage Testing since 2005. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a B.A. in History, earning the Harvard College Scholarship for Academic Distinction as well as the David McCord Prize and the Quincy House Scroll.

In addition to tutoring with Advantage Testing, Dan is a full professor in the Electronic Production and Design Department at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is also on the faculty of The Juilliard School in the Center for Innovative Technology and NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. For all these universities, he designs curriculum and specializes in digital music production and live performance. He is also involved in the development of new interfaces for electronic music performance.

Dan has performed and given workshops on electronic music production, technology, and performance worldwide, including New York Tech Week 2024, SXSW, Harvard University, TEDxPuraVida (Costa Rica), Berghain (Berlin), Kings Place (London), Argenlive (Buenos Aires), The Universidad de Santiago (Chile), Teatro Ruben Dario (Nicaragua), Centro Cultural de España (Mexico City), and Sonar (Barcelona). As a bass player, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, on Broadway, and in venues across North and South America and Europe. He actively records and produces music at his Manhattan studio near Union Square.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Dan has lived abroad in Costa Rica and Italy, bringing a global perspective to both his teaching and musical work.
