Carmen earned her B.S. in Applied Mathematics-Biology from Brown University, graduating cum laude with honors. She is currently completing her M.D. at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University.
While at Brown, Carmen was an undergraduate teaching assistant for biochemistry and genetics. She was also a summer instructor for Summer@Brown Hands on Medicine courses and enjoys working one-on-one with students to reach their academic goals.
Outside of academics, Carmen is an avid marathon runner—she has completed seven marathons, including the Boston Marathon twice. She is also dedicated to community service through volunteering as a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island, coaching for Girls on the Run, and working with ACEing Autism.
