Austin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with B.A. degrees in Plan II and English Honors and from the University of Houston with his MFA in Theatre (Acting). He earned membership in the Dedman Distinguished Scholars Program at UT, Phi Beta Kappa, and MENSA. Austin was also the valedictorian of Flour Bluff High School.
As a tutor with seven years of professional experience, Austin knows the importance of personal attention and understanding. Each student requires a different balance of challenge, comfort, and fun to help them reach their goals. Austin is endlessly patient, broadly knowledgeable, and creative enough to help unlock ways of thinking about the material that actually make sense.
Outside of tutoring, Austin is a professional actor who has worked with the Houston Shakespeare Festival, Houston Grand Opera, and Tennessee Shakespeare Company. He also loves playing and teaching chess, reading and watching great books and movies, and writing poetry and plays. His Duolingo streak is probably the longest of anyone you know.
