Sandy graduated cum laude from University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Communications. She then earned an Elementary Teaching Certificate from Houston Baptist University, and she is a Texas certified teacher in first through eighth grade. Sandy has almost two decades of experience teaching and tutoring pre-kindergarten through the ninth grade. Throughout her career, she has worked with students with special needs, including mild autism, Tourette syndrome, dyslexia, and reading and math intervention as well as gifted and talented students. Sandy is familiar working with the Neuhaus reading and language programs as well as the Math Our Way program, and she has attended more than 360 hours of continuing education classes. One of her greatest joys is seeing the look of satisfaction on a child’s face when they have accomplished their goals and reached their full potential. She believes that every child can succeed; they may have different learning styles and some may have to work harder than others, but they can all achieve their goals. When she’s not tutoring, Sandy enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
