The SAT Subject Tests in French evaluate skills in French grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. A student with a strong background in the language, including at least two or three years of formal study in high school, might consider taking a French Subject Test.
Our French Subject Test Tutoring Program
We take an educational approach to the French Subject Tests. We focus on grammatical rules and establish an individualized schedule for the study of vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. Our programs are tailored to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and previous exposure to—and present skills in—French.
Through in-session and homework drills, tutors help students learn vocabulary, apply grammatical rules, and develop concrete approaches to reading comprehension. Timed, full-length practice tests provide opportunities for students to exercise the knowledge and problem-solving skills emphasized during tutoring sessions.
Contact us to speak with a program consultant and schedule a diagnostic French Subject Test. If you are unsure about whether to take the French Subject Test with or without the listening component, we will help you make a decision based on diagnostic test scores, coursework, and time each student has spent in a French-speaking environment.
